2018 - Alzheimer Research UK

Mano Amiga Award in the institutional category, which recognizes the work of public and private institutions.

For his pioneering work since 1992, focused on supporting dementia research, understanding the disease, accurate diagnosis, reducing risks and achieving effective treatment. For the implementation in the United Kingdom of one of the largest networks of research centers around the world, which is bringing us a future without the fear of dementia.

2016 - EUROPEAN WORKING GROUP OF PEOPLE WITH DEMENTIA -EWGPWD- Alzheimer EUROPE

Mano Amiga Award in the institutional category, which recognizes the work of public and private institutions.

Mano Amiga Award in the institutional category, which recognizes the work of public and private institutions, falls this year in the European Working Group of people with dementia - EWGPWD - Alzheimer Europe. The reason, for its contribution to ensure that the activities, projects and meetings of Alzheimer Europe duly reflect the priorities and views of people with dementia and their efforts for a new image of dementia in society and for people who want to lead an active and independent life under the conditions of dementia. The work of EWGPWD is an example for all the people affected by Alzheimer disease, their families, caregivers and whole society, helping to raise awareness and increasing knowledge about the disease. The award was received by Helen Rochford, vice-chairperson of the EWGPWD and Ana Diaz, representative of Alzheimer Europe.

2014 - Alzheimer plan France

Category: Institution. 4rd Edition of the “Mano Amiga” Awards.

In recognition of its decade-long history in the fight against dementias , during which time it has become an international pioneer and reference point in the triple challenge which is Alzheimer’s Disease – scientific , medical and social. The Plan has resulted in an unprecedented project being made which has resulted in promoting early diagnosis , providing better treatment and care for patients and their families and carers , and which has obtained more effective aid and thus speeded up research.

Category: Institution. 3rd Edition of the “Mano Amiga” Awards

In recognition of its contribution to awareness and study of Alzheimer’s Disease and for its efforts in the search for risk factors which influence the development of the disease.

Founded in 1811, the Karolinska Institute in Sweden is the largest University institution for Higher Medical Education in the world. It is located in the capital and is associated to the Karolinska Hospital, a university education medical centre.

2012 - Cien Foundation

Category: Institution. 2nd Edition of the “Mano Amiga” Awards.

In recognition of its research into Alzheimer’s Disease and its management of the Centre for Biomedical Research into Neurodegenerative Diseases, known in Spanish as CIBERNED, an organization whose principal aim is monographical research, broadly defined, into neurodegenerative diseases.
